Bridge Drama – Brief History”

Bridge Drama was founded in February 1998 by a group of people with a passion for drama and everything theatrical. Set up initially with the intention of performing one production annually in Wexford’s Art Centre.

The group quickly evolved and armed with three years experience entered on to the amateur drama circuit for the first time in 2002. The groups first All-Ireland final was Warrenpoint in 2004, and then in 2005 the group performed two productions and achieved a place in its second All-Ireland final in Siamsa Tire, Tralee. In 2006 we reached the All-Ireland finals in Claregalway and again in 2008 in Strabane. In 2009 in Ballyduff we became All-Ireland Champions also winning Best Producer, Best Lighting and Best Actress. In 2010 we entered the open section for the first time, we did not reach the finals winning one festival and finishing second in six others picking up lots of individual awards along the way.
